What sort of a life do you prefer? Smooth or Rough?
Do you just want to pass through life without challenging yourself?
Imagine a life where you began with going to school (off course we all have to go through schooling as it gives us discipline and makes us smarter) then moving on to higher education and eventually finding a job. You will probably work for many companies and organisations in your career, in fact I have met many who have worked for the same company for several years and some maybe had a career change along the way. But in what sense have we challenged ourselves? This is just one flow traffic being in our comfort zones; at least 90% of the population follow the crowd. The game Tetris teaches us “If we try to fit in, we will disappear”
Now the main reason why people don’t challenge themselves is due to fear of failure. To be honest we only learn from experiences, more bad then good experiences. Bad ones teach us a lot about ourselves and life. Not many have had big failures, I’m sure we encounter small failures and rejections everyday but don’t realise them. So, do we stop there? We keep going…
If you had an unsuccessful interview would you give up or keep trying? You have to keep trying or else how will you pay your bills? Or, on the other hand if you were driving and stuck in traffic and had to reach to your destination quickly as possible you would find an alternate route. Off course, this is obvious we all know that but don’t realise that we are strong and capable to deal with big failures in order to achieve our purpose in life.
“Failures are part of life. If you don’t fail, you don’t learn. If you don’t learn, you will never change”
If you embark on a new venture in your life, you will most likely fail in your first few attempts. Why is that? We tend to think we can just dive in and become an instant overnight success; hardly anyone has made that happen. So, what’s the reason for your failure? Is it the idea, people or economy?
Well, none of them, it’s only YOU!
After having failures and setbacks, we have to take a back-seat and ponder that why am I not progressing or at least having bit of success? The answer is CHANGE! We have to change ourselves in order to attract success mentally.
“Time changes everything except something within us which is always surprised by change.” – Thomas Hardy
